How to set up a Hotspot on your device

Setting up a Hotspot or tethering lets you share the cellular data connection of your phone or device with other phones or devices when you don’t have access to a Wi-Fi network. All our Custom Plans on either network allow tethering. With Unlimited Plans only the ones that expressly state that they support Hotspot will allow tethering or connected devices on Hotspot

Super LTE hot spot does not work. I cannot edit the APN settings required. The sim card has everything locked to V*****n for the APN settings.

    1. Hey David,
Thanks for getting in touch and Merry Christmas, I’ve checked your account and made some changes, go ahead and restart your phone once and hopefully this should be resolved. If not, try dropping us a line at [email protected] and we’ll take it from there 🙂 Happy Holidays!
      P.S.
You don’t need to change the APN settings, they’re automated and don’t need to be amended.

I also have a problem with the Super LTE and a hot spot on an unlocked Verizon phone I brought over. The hot spot software doesn’t seem to work with my US mobile number and won’t allow the android hot spot ability to work either. The APN is locked as well. Data speeds on the phone are great, but the hot spot would be nice to have.

    1. Hey Joel,

Thank you for getting in touch with us on this, we’ve noticed that in some carrier branded phones the hotspot may not work, this is something to do with the devices firmware restricting any other carriers Hotspot feature from working. We’re trying to see if we can find a way to make this work, once we do have one, we’ll be happy disperse the information 🙂 drop us a line at [email protected] if we can assist further, thanks!

Can a USmobile SIM be used in a unlocked, RF compatible, dedicated mobile wifi hotspot?

    1. Hi Bob!

You can use the GSM LTE SIM card in such a hotspot device, as long as it is unlocked and compatible with the network frequencies. For further information you may speak to our experts at any time via chat, call or email.

Can I purchase a super LTE sim card and put it into an old phone that I want to turn into an occasional hotspot? I don’t need to call anyone or text anyone, it’s just I live in a rural area that has poor T-Mobile coverage and would like the option of using Verizon’s LTE network for data only.

    1. If you sign up for hotspot with unlimited data, you’ll lose hotspot capabilities after 15 GB of usage in a billing cycle.
