Is there a way to disable voicemail?
Is there a way to set the number of rings before going to voicemail?

      1. Robert

How how how can that be??!! This is the year 2016, and I can’t set basic options like the number of rings!
Actually I too want to turn off voicemail completely. I am aghast to read I don’t have a choice.

        1. At the moment we are in process of improving it and will definitely provide more liberty to edit voicemail options. However if you are looking to turn it off completely, please contact us via chat or call and we can help you with it.

          1. Robert

No you can’t. I just called and asked for it to be turned off completely and was told it is impossible.
It’s aggravating to get conflicting information. Obviously either the CS Team member who wrote the previous post, or the employee I just spoke to on the phone, doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

          2. Alright let me try to clear this problem as much as I can. From the parent carrier, we have a limitation or you can say a requirement that all numbers should have the Voicemail set up. So what we do for those customers who don’t want it, we disable it from our side but again the numbers keep syncing from the parent carrier’s network from time to time (roughly once a quarter). When the numbers get synced, voicemail automatically gets enabled. To some people, this is alright but sometimes it becomes inconvenience for the customers to call us again to disable it.

I have checked your account and I can confirm that the voicemail on your account can be disabled. But again, this might just get automatically enabled from time to time so you may have to contact us again to get it done. Again I apologize for the confusion and the delay in response. At US Mobile, we try our best to keep it transparent as much as we can. I hope this is understandable.

Thanks for the explanation. It does indeed sound like there’s no convenient solution till your whole system gets revamped. To briefly explain *why* I don’t want your voicemail enabled: I use my USMobile number as a forwarding line for Google Voice. Google Voice’s voicemail is frankly superior to yours so I want to use it exclusively. When your voicemail kicks in it interferes with Google Voice’s operation, causing me frustration and a real mess.
I’ll give some thought to whether I want to be bothered with going through a quarterly exercise of calling and re-disabling your voicemail.

    1. Don

You can disable voicemail by dialing ##002# on your phone. That disables all call forwarding so no calls will go to voicemail. I use Google Voice for voicemail so I disabled it on the cellphone side.

      1. Robert D. Rosenbaum

I wish that were the solution, but if your cell phone is turned off, out of range, or in airplane mode, the US Mobile voicemail kicks in immediately, without even trying to ring the phone. Google Voice doesn’t have a chance.

Change my previous comment to “How long does a post remain “awaiting moderation”? I posted the above comment weeks ago.

          1. Sorry Robert,

Our online forum is still new and we were facing problems recently and for that I apologize, just approved all your comments

Is there some way to get Visual Voicemail (VVM) to work? My phone takes me to a 404 not found page – m.web2go.com/dsb/vvmupsell – when I hit setup.

    1. We are not offering visual voicemail feature at the moment. Its on our development road-map and will be available in the future.

  4. Scott

I just want to add my voice to this complaint. I also use Good Voice, and would love to see a way to disable US Mobile voicemail. Previous posts here made it sound like it was possible (at least temporarily) but the customer service agents I have contacted told me it’s not possible.

  5. Chris

I wanted to have my number forward to google voice for voicemail as I did on my previous carrier. I chatted with a representative and he disabled voicemail on my number but instead of then forwarding to google voice, it just hangs up. Frustrating as I really like google voice but I’ll have to contact them to re-enable voicemail as I would rather have plain voicemail than none.

NO visual voicemail feature?!!! I wished I knew this earlier. Just switched to USmobile. My family rely on visual voicemail so heavily… 🙁 🙁

Tried ##002#, didn’t work. Saw some bunch of failure messages..

    1. If you are looking to get it completely disabled please call us or send us an email at help@usmobile.com since there is a verification process involved so we won’t be able to resolve it here.

  8. Cindy Liang

Chatted with CS team. They initially said it’s not possible, then asked me to try #004#. Unfortunately that didn’t work either. They said they would get back to me. Not having visual voice mail is so so inconvenient. Was hoping google voice can save me from depression of switching to service that doesn’t have VVM, but not having much luck …

  9. Ken

I just tried to set up voice mail and I got a message saying it was not available for users roaming on T-Mobile’s network! Please get this fixed! Something as basic as this should not be an issue. It almost makes want to consider another carrier.

    1. Ken, I would suggest to contact us via chat or email providing your number so our support team can try to fix that for you. You can chat with us by using chat widget at bottom right on this page or you could email us at help@usmobile.com

I’m glad visual voicemail is in the works. Can you provide a rough estimate as to how far into the future it may be? Thanks.

    1. We cannot promise the exact time frame at the moment but we are looking at Q4 2016 to add a lot more features as well as improving our coverage map with more ground. At the moment our primary target is to improve our coverage.

  11. Mat

I’m getting a warning that voicemail doesn’t work for non-tmobile users roaming on the tmobile network. What am I missing?

    1. Mat,

I am sorry for the delay in response, best bet would be to contact us by dialing 611 from your US Mobile number, or by initiating chat with us from bottom right of this page so we can try and resolve this in a live environment.

I’m trying to set up my voicemail box, but when I get to the menu the only options are to access an existing mailbox (I tried putting my number in under that option, but it says it’s invalid) or to leave a message for another number. Help, please?

    Thank you!

    1. Faith,

Thank you for reaching ou to us. US Mobile’s customer support will reach out to you on your registered email for resolution.
