How to manage my data usage

Edited

Only the account owner and admins can access Usage Management features on a line. If you have a Contributor/Viewer account, contact the account owner or an admin to change these features.

With US Mobile, you have granular control of your line's data usage in your hands. Whether you want to block data, slow down the usage, or stream videos in HD, you can do that straight from the website dashboard. Here's a list of all the different data usage management features we offer:

Data Saver

Data Saver allows you to slow down the data usage of your line so you don't run out of high-speed data in the middle of your cycle. Here's how you can turn it on from the website:

  1. Log into your Account Dashboard.

  2. Click on My Lines on the left sidebar.

  3. Click on the line you want to turn on Data Saver for.

  4. Under Line Settings open the Usage & Controls menu, and click on Usage Management.

  5. Turn the toggle for Data Saver and click on Confirm Changes.

Data Blocker

If you don't want to use data on your line, you can block it temporarily. Here's how you can turn off the data from the website:

  1. Log into your Account Dashboard.

  2. Click on My Lines on the left sidebar.

  3. Click on the line you want to block data for.

  4. Under Line Settings open the Usage & Controls menu, and click on Usage Management.

  5. Turn the toggle for Data Blocker and click on Confirm Changes.

Data Waster

By default, we offer video playback/streaming on our lines in 480p. This is to prevent users accidentally using up all of their high-speed data while watching videos. However, if you'd like to stream videos in HD, you can turn on the Data Waster mode. Here's how you can do this from the website:

  1. Log into your Account Dashboard.

  2. Click on My Lines on the left sidebar.

  3. Click on the line you want to turn on Data Waster for.

  4. Under Line Settings open the Usage & Controls menu, and click on Usage Management.

  5. Turn the toggle for Data Waster and click on Confirm Changes.

These features will automatically be turned off at the end of your 30-day cycle. If you want to enable it on the next cycle, you can turn them on again.
