Emails to Texts

Email to Texts

Email to text feature makes it easy for a customer to send texts/MMS through laptops, desktops, and tablets in situations where their phone battery has died if they do not have a phone with them, etc. This feature works with both PC and Mac.

Your message must be 160 characters or less, including the subject line and recipient's email address. If you write a text message that's more than 160 characters, the message will be sent as an EMS. Depending on the wireless carrier and device, the recipient may receive the message as a single message or as multiple messages in a row.

Requirements for Warp 5G

  1. Please make sure that the line is configured with an active text and a data plan. You can check this on your account’s dashboard.

  2. If your data balance goes below 50 MB you will not be able to use MMS. Please make sure you have more than 50 MB of data. Please buy a Top Up if required.

  3. Ensure that you have the latest software update.

  4. Make sure that Wi-Fi is turned off and Mobile Data is enabled.

  5. Please make sure that MMS Messaging/Group Messaging is turned ON on your phone.

Sending Texts and MMS to a phone with a Light Speed Network

  1. Compose a new Email

  2. In the “To” field, enter the 10-digit mobile number of the recipient followed by @tmomail.net ([email protected]). Make sure you do not add any space, dash, or brackets between the phone numbers

  3. Write a text message of 160 characters or less, add multimedia attachments, and click “send”.

In theory, an email not including a subject line, with 160 characters or less, will be received on the phone as an SMS, but in practice, it often doesn’t come through at all. So if a customer reports not being able to receive an email to text, ask them to add a subject line to convert the message into an MMS, in which case it will come through, provided the regular MMS conditions are meant.
