Carrier porting information

To transfer your number to US Mobile, you'll need your account number and transfer PIN from your current carrier. Find your carrier below for instructions on how to get them.

AT&T Landline

Account Number: Your 10-digit phone number.

PIN: The 4 digits immediately to the right of the phone number in the top right corner of your bill.

AT&T Postpaid

Account Number: 9- or 12-digit wireless account number (top-right corner of bill). Sign in to myAT&T and go to Profile > Sign-in Info > My linked accounts.

If you have a bundled account with wireline, internet, or DIRECTV, there will be a separate wireless account number on the bill.

PIN: 6-digit port-out PIN. To get it:

Via phone:

  1. From your AT&T device, call *PORT.
  2. Follow the prompts to receive a Number Transfer PIN by text.

Via myAT&T app:

  1. Sign in on your AT&T device.
  2. Go to Profile and select People & Permissions.
  3. Scroll to Transfer phone number and select Request a new PIN.

Online via myAT&T:

  1. Go to your myAT&T profile.
  2. Choose People & Permissions.
  3. Select Wireless.
  4. Scroll to Transfer phone number and select Request a new PIN.

Google Voice ports can take 5–7 days. When you start a port-out, Google will email you instructions to unlock your number. Native Google Voice numbers incur an unlocking fee; numbers originally ported into Google Voice do not.

GoSmart Mobile

If you change the PIN and the porting request is rejected, you'll need to deassign all users on the account before the update takes effect:

  1. Go to the Account Portal.
  2. Go to User Assignment.
  3. Select the phone you want to unassign.

Straight Talk Wireless

Straight Talk, Tracfone, NET10, SafeLink Wireless, and Total Wireless all share the same port center and have the same PIN process. The account number format depends on which underlying network your number is on.

Account Number:

  • AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile networks: Last 15 digits of the SIM (if using your own device), or the IMEI (15 or 18 digits) if you purchased the device from Straight Talk or Tracfone.
  • Verizon network: Either the IMEI or the full 20-digit SIM number.

To reset your security PIN: go to the My Information page and select Change next to security PIN.

  1. Sign in to your Ting account.
  2. Select device settings.
  3. Select the phone number.
  4. The MSL Code is listed on the left side of the screen.

If the MSL Code fails, sign in to Ting Mobile and go to Account Settings > Port Out Information for the PIN and account number.

T-Mobile Postpaid

Account Number: 9-digit account number from your T-Mobile online account.

note

Prepaid and Postpaid account numbers are different. Your phone number is not the account number.

Number Transfer PIN (NTP): 6-digit number, valid for 7 days after being generated.

Via app or website:

  1. Sign in to My T-Mobile.
  2. Select Account.
  3. Select Profile Settings.
  4. Select Line Settings.
  5. Select Request a Transfer PIN.
  6. Follow the verification steps.

You must be registered as the Primary Account Holder (PAH) to retrieve an NTP.

Via phone:

  2. Request a Number Transfer PIN and follow the verification steps.

You must be able to confirm a One Time PIN sent to your device.

If you can't confirm the One Time PIN, visit a T-Mobile retail store with a valid ID. The representative will contact the internal team and provide the NTP directly.

  1. Sign in to your Xfinity Mobile account and go to the Devices tab.
  2. Select the device associated with the phone number you want to transfer.
  3. Scroll down and select Transfer your number, cancel this line.
  4. Select Learn More.
  5. Select an active line to receive a security PIN by text.

The same PIN works for all numbers on your Xfinity Mobile account and expires in five days.
