Frequently Asked Questions

Which iPhones support eSIM?

Every iPhone from the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR (2018) onward supports eSIM. U.S. models of the iPhone 14 and later are eSIM-only, with no physical SIM tray, and the iPhone 17 Air is eSIM-only worldwide.

How do I check if my phone supports eSIM?

On iPhone, open Settings then Cellular and look for “Add eSIM.” On Android, go to Settings then Network & internet then SIMs (Pixel) or Settings then Connections then SIM manager (Samsung). If you see an option to add an eSIM, your phone supports it.

Do Samsung and Google Pixel phones support eSIM?

Yes. Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, the Note 20 line, all Z Fold and Z Flip models, and select A-series phones support eSIM. Google Pixel 2 and newer support it (the Pixel 2 only on Google Fi), through the Pixel 10 series.

Is an eSIM-only phone a problem?

For most people, no. eSIM-only phones like recent U.S. iPhones activate online in minutes and can store multiple profiles. The main thing to know is you’ll set up service digitally rather than inserting a physical card.
