Data breaches have become background noise. Vital information about our lives, our finances, our personal accounts, addresses, social security numbers, private messages — out on the open market for some of the worst people in the world to buy, sell and exploit. It’s become so commonplace it barely raises an eyebrow.
We refuse to accept it. Our customers trust us with their privacy and security. It’s our job to earn that trust, daily. There’s no such thing as perfect security online, but that won’t stop us from trying. Constantly. (We’ve been working on this for years.)
We’ve just added three big features to help you stay secure while using our services. Security is always a balance with convenience, so each of these features is opt-in. A couple are paid add-ons, which reflect the costs per line to us.
These features join other recent security enhancements, like Passkeys and a threat detection system that finds user data in the breaches of other companies, then notifies the user and locks down their US Mobile account until the password is changed.
Here’s what’s new:
Enhanced Security
Free on All Networks
Enhanced Security adds an extra layer of defense on your line against malicious actors. The feature restricts anyone — whether through our app or customer service — from:
- porting out
- moving the line to another network
- changing the device on the line
- downloading usage logs
Once Enhanced Security is enabled, you’ll need to disable it before performing any of these actions on your line. This replaces older security features, like Never SIM Swap and No Port Out, that required contacting support to enable.
Enhanced Security can be enabled right from Line Settings on your line details page. The feature requires 2FA to be enabled. Available now.
Passkeys in the Web App
Free on All Networks
Already previously available in the US Mobile app on iOS and Android, passkeys are now available in the US Mobile web app. No passwords, no hassle, more secure — just a faster, phishing-resistant way to sign in from any browser.
Spam Detect
Add it for $2/mo. on our Warp Network – coming soon to Dark Star and Light Speed
Spam Detect flags suspected spam, robocall and fraud operators right in your Caller ID so you can screen them before you pick up. The feature also adds Caller ID, displaying the name of unknown callers when they’re available. Overall: more information and more control when you receive an unknown call.
Please note: We pay per line to offer this feature, so the price reflects that.
Web Filtering
Add it for $2/mo. on our Light Speed network
Protect family members young and old, or yourself, from unsafe, unsavory, and malicious content online, while connected to mobile data.
Each of these features can be enabled in the Line Settings section of your line details page. We pay for each line that uses this feature, so the cost reflects that. Since they’re all line-level features, you can pick and choose which to enable on each line. And if a feature is exclusive to a line you aren’t on, you can always use our Network Transfer tool to switch to the network you need.
And more Coming Soon
We’re not stopping here. Later this year, we’re bringing even more control and protection to your account — on web and mobile.
Eliminating Security Questions
Despite their name, security questions are not the most secure. Public information and information on social media can give away much of the personal information used to answer security questions. So we’re replacing them with more secure forms of verification.
Stronger Verification for High-Risk Changes
Currently, we block sensitive account actions — like SIM swaps, number ports and device changes — unless 2FA is enabled on the account. Soon, we’ll require direct reauthorization before any of these actions can be performed.
And much more to come. If there are security improvements you’d like to see, let us know in the comments. ↓

My dark star line is overrun with scam and spam callers, and I’ve used whatever iOS blocking and filtering I can including the send unknown callers to voicemail, but I’d like to know if there’s a way to get carrier level blocking so those types of things don’t even reach My Phone. I get so many even My Phone buzzing every time there is a scam making me miss legitimate calls.
Hi Mark! We currently offer Spam Detect, with carrier-level spam identification. For now it’s only on the Warp network. Thanks for commenting!
It would be really handy and time-saving if, when a new feature is added and promoted, there were a direct link to its access and activation. Thanks for making security and convenience priorities.
Setting up deep links is on our list of priorities.
thanks for enhanced security. i reid to follow instructions in the emailed announcement, however it took me far too long to stumble across the place to turn it on. “line setting” page wasn’t easy to find. i saw lots of settings pages and the pooled lines page. i also tried “search”. i didn’t know to tap on a single pooled line to see even more details and settings. more detailed instructions for finding features will be helpful.
Thank you for the feedback. We passed this along to our security, product and marketing teams.
Will there be a way to completely block the spam calls/texts? I already know they are garbage calls, it would be great to bounce them before my line ever rang. Silence Unknown Callers is the workaround for me as of now.
When will you be adding “Sign in with Passkey” to http://www.usmobile.com Sign-in page instead of just at app.usmobile.com?
Thanks for eliminating security questions!
In addition to Passkeys, would you consider supporting Security Keys like YubiKey?
It’s already supported. You can add a yubikey using the add a passkey flow
Sounds Good Security is HIGH PRIORITY when Hackers are becoming more SAVVY and Stealing our Private information and freezing our Internet usage tgat Connects us to the WORLD !…
Thank you for keeping up 👍👍
I would love to see SAML SSO with SCIM for business customers.
Thank you for doing that for us. It’s really appreciate it.
Thanks for being a customer — we appreciate you!
