The US Mobile starter kit comes with two SIM Cards. They are Super LTE and GSM LTE SIM cards. By partnering with the 2 fastest and most reliable network providers in the US we have ensured that you get the same network quality and coverage, but with more flexibility, better prices, and amazing customer service. This means that there are no contracts and you get fully customizable plans that fully cater to your needs while ensuring you get the maximum value possible.

To make it easier for our customers to understand the difference between the Super LTE and GSM LTE SIM cards and the device compatibility with either of them, a detailed explanation is as follows:

GSM LTE

GSM LTE (white SIM card) offers the broadest compatibility across US. If the device possesses Band 4 (1700/2100 Mhz) for LTE, then it should be compatible with the GSM network. 2G & 3G devices are now no longer supported on the GSM network.

This is what a GSM LTE sim card looks like:

Depending on the coverage, your device may receive either fast (5G) or slow Edge (E) data speeds. You can always reach out to our 24/7 customer support via chat, email or call, to help you check the coverage in your area.

Super LTE

The Super LTE (black SIM card) works on phones that have the HD Voice Calling feature enabled by default from the phone manufacturer. Depending on what region the phone is made for, almost all Apple, Samsung, Google Pixel and OnePlus phones work really well with the Super LTE SIM card. For Super LTE, the necessary 4G bands are 4 and 13 and HD voice is also essential. But you should always reach out to us on chat, call or email to confirm whether your phone would work with either of our networks Super LTE and GSM LTE Network. Our customer support would always guide you better with preference between both the networks.

Compatibility Checker

For our Super LTE and GSM LTE network, we have a handy compatibility checker built into the ‘Networks’ page that can help you determine the compatibility on either of our networks yourself! Just enter the 15 digit IMEI of your device to know if you can use it on which two of our networks from Super LTE and GSM LTE. We highly recommend that you contact us with your phone’s make and model + IMEI so our experts can determine which network fits it best.

You can find the IMEI by dialing *#06# on your phone. The IMEI number can also be found on the sticker on the back of your phone, under the battery pack, or on the box your phone came with.

Is your phone compatible with Super LTE and GSM LTE?

Phone bands and why they matter?

A very important part of any cell phone specification is its ability to operate on certain frequency bands. Why they are important is because they help us determine if the supported frequency bands make the phone compatible in terms of smooth calls, texts and data with certain cellular networks. In this case, it is important to check the relevant bands for both Super LTE and GSM LTE and decide the better option between the two.
