A By the Gig or shareable data plan allows you to select a specific amount of monthly data that you can share among as many devices as you wish. To use a shareable data plan, you create a “pool” of shareable data, by selecting the amount of monthly data that you wish to use. The cost of this monthly data base plan includes one line with unlimited talk and text for free. You can then add additional lines to this shareable data plan, at a cost of $8/month (inclusive of all taxes and fees). All lines in a single shareable data pool will share the data allocation. For example, if you create a 2 GB shareable data pool and add one line to it, that will cost you $10/month for unlimited talk and text on that line plus 2 GB of data per month. You can then add a second line to this pool. Now, for a total cost of $18/month ($10 + $8), you will have two lines with unlimited talk and text and 2 GB of data usage shared between the two lines. You can create multiple shareable data pools on your account.

Yes, any line that you already have on your account can be easily moved from its current plan to a Shareable Data plan! Just keep in mind that when you move an existing line to a Shareable data plan, the line is moved to that plan immediately, and the cycle on its old plan ends. If there is a line access fee due (the first line added to a shareable data plan is included for free, but additional lines cost $8/month), the line will be charged a lower, prorated access fee according to the number of days remaining in the shareable data plan’s billing cycle. Lines using our Warp (Black) SIMs, Light Speed (White) SIMs and Dark Star (Red) SIMs can be added to a shareable data plan.

With our Shareable Data plans, you pick how much data you’d like to share, and the number of lines that will be sharing that data. The cost of the monthly data depends on the amount of data you purchase (this page lists the cost of different base plan sizes) and includes one line with unlimited talk and text for free. You can then add additional lines to this shareable data plan, at a cost of $8/month (inclusive of all taxes and fees). If you need more data in the middle of a billing cycle you can top up with more data at a cost of $2/GB. There are no overage fees.

Yes! You can definitely have lines on our other plans (e.g. our Unlimited plans) on your account in addition to lines on Shareable Data plans. For example, you could have eight individual lines on your account and three lines on a Shareable Data plan

Yes! Hotspot is included with Shareable Data plans at no extra cost.

Yes! You can top up the amount of shareable data in a pool in the middle of a billing cycle. To top up go to the pool page on your account and click the button to “Add Top Up” in the top section of the page. You’ll be able to add however much data you want at a cost of $2 per GB and start using it immediately.

AutoPay is always enabled for shareable data plans. However, you can snooze or deactivate your plan or lines at any time, so you’re never stuck paying for service you don’t need.

All the pricing listed for our shareable data plans is inclusive of taxes & fees! So there is no additional taxes or fees that you have to pay. This is subject to change from time to time as the cost of compliance changes.
