Are you looking to bring your number to Cricket? Well, you’re in the right place! Transferring your number to Cricket is easier than you might think, and we’re here to guide you through it every step of the way. So, let’s dive into how you can make the switch smoothly and enjoy all the great benefits that Cricket has to offer.
How It Works to Bring Your Number to Cricket
When you decide to place an online order with Cricket, the first thing you’ll need is your current wireless account information. This is super important because we’ll reach out to your current service provider to confirm that we’re able to bring your number over to Cricket. Make sure the information you provide matches your current service provider’s records exactly. If there’s a mismatch, we’ll let you know via email or text. Keep in mind, your order won’t be processed until we’ve confirmed your account information, and this needs to happen within 48 to 72 hours. If we can’t confirm it in that time, your order will be canceled. No pressure though; we’re here to help!
After we get the thumbs up from your current provider, we’ll notify you through email, and then it’s time for your order to ship. Once your Cricket device or SIM card arrives, you can activate it. If you’re using your own device and opted for an eSIM, you’ll get an email with a link to activate it. Your number will officially transfer over when you activate your new line.
Information You’ll Need to Bring Your Number to Cricket
Depending on who your current service provider is, you’ll need all or some of the following info:
- Current wireless account number
- Current account PIN
- Number transfer PIN (if required; you’ll need to ask your current provider for this)
- Last four digits of your Social Security Number
- Billing ZIP code on account
Important Tips for Using Cricket
One crucial thing to remember: don’t cancel your current service until your number is officially brought over to Cricket. You need your number to be active so we can transfer it without any issues. Once you activate your Cricket service, you might experience some “mixed service” during the transition. This simply means that your old device might still receive calls while your new device is making calls. Don’t worry, this will sort itself out in a little while!
Just a heads up, not every number can be brought over to Cricket. Here are the exceptions:
- Canceled or disconnected numbers
- Home phone VoIP (like Skype or Google Voice)
- International or toll-free numbers
If your number doesn’t make the cut for transfer, don’t sweat it—you can always select a new Cricket number based on your ZIP code.
