What network does Boost Mobile use?

In its August 26, 2025 announcement, EchoStar stated:

“While primary connectivity will be provided by AT&T’s towers, Boost Mobile subscribers will continue to have access to the T-Mobile network.”

Plans and pricing

Boost’s Unlimited Plans page lists four main plans at the following AutoPay prices:

Boost’s Unlimited Terms state that the $25 Unlimited price requires AutoPay and costs $30 per month without AutoPay. Those terms also state that customers using more than 30GB of premium data on that plan will have speeds reduced to 512kbps for the remainder of the billing cycle. Boost notes that specific plan terms may vary by activation date.

Billing and payment policies

Agent-assisted payments

Boost’s Billing and Payments page states that assisted payments are subject to a $4 convenience fee. For guest payments, it says its automated telephone system can be used without a fee.

Payment extensions

Boost’s Payment Extension page says customers on a No Contract account can extend their payment due date by five days for $10 per line. Boost says it credits $5 per line back when the full monthly payment is made by the extended due date.

Refunds of payments already applied

Boost’s Billing and Payments page says that once a service payment is applied to an account, it is not refundable, transferable or exchangeable. Its General Terms & Conditions also state that payments are not prorated when service changes are made before the next payment due date.

Boost separately offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for eligible new customers. That policy provides a refund exception for customers who meet its requirements.

Device unlocking

Boost’s Unlocking Policy states that eligible prepaid devices are unlocked one year after initial activation, subject to its payment, usage and account-status requirements.

Boost says prepaid devices must have no outstanding device balance and the account cannot be suspended when the device becomes eligible. It says eligible devices are automatically unlocked remotely within two business days when technically possible.

Boost applies different rules to postpaid devices. According to the same policy, a financed postpaid device becomes eligible after the financing plan is completed, while a postpaid device purchased in full is eligible immediately.

Hotspot and international features

Hotspot

Boost’s Data Hotspot page lists the hotspot add-on at $10 per month and says hotspot usage draws from the plan’s high-speed data allotment. Boost says hotspot is included with Unlimited+ and Unlimited Premium.

Global roaming

Boost’s Global Roaming page lists the add-on at $10 per month and includes 1GB of international data per month. Boost says additional data can be purchased for $10 per GB, up to an additional 9GB.

Global Talk & Text

Boost’s Global Talk & Text page says the feature includes international calling and texting from the U.S. to supported destinations and is included with Unlimited+, Unlimited Premium and Infinite Access plans. Its Unlimited Plans page also lists the feature with Global Connection.

Use Boost’s phone-compatibility checker to check your device using its IMEI. Boost also says that a phone brought from another carrier must be unlocked by that carrier.
