Starlink Residential plans
We've partnered with Starlink to offer comprehensive unlimited home internet plans alongside our mobile plan offerings, all managed in one unified platform.
What is Starlink?
Starlink is an internet provider enabling high-speed, low-latency internet powered by an advanced fleet of low-earth orbit satellites.
- High speed internet, no matter how remote: Stay connected beyond what’s historically possible, with the world’s largest constellation of satellites in a low orbit around the Earth.
- Reliable and resilient: High-speed, low-latency internet with 99.9% average uptime. Designed to endure snow, sleet, heavy rain, and harsh winds.
- Plug and play, self-install: Plug it in. Point at the sky. Only two steps. Starlink requires an unobstructed view of the sky.

Starlink hardware
To connect to Starlink's network you will need a hardware kit.
Select customers in eligible areas can receive a free kit rental when signing up for Starlink.
Getting a Starlink plan
Follow these steps to get one of our Starlink plans.
Purchase your plan
You can add a Starlink Residential plan directly from the US Mobile app.
- Open the US Mobile app and sign in to your account.
- Select Add a line from the home screen.
- Choose a Starlink Residential plan that fits your needs.
- Complete your purchase. Your US Mobile account will be charged the monthly plan fee going forward.
Purchasing the plan in the US Mobile app does not automatically ship your hardware. You need to claim your kit separately on Starlink.com (covered in the next step).
Claim your kit
After purchasing your plan, you'll receive instructions to claim your Starlink hardware kit on Starlink.com. This is where your Hardware Kit will be shipped from.
- Go to the US Mobile app and find your Starlink plan on your Lines dashboard.
- Follow the unique link generated in the app to claim your kit from Starlink.com.
- Enter your shipping address exactly as you did when you bought Starlink from us.
- Select the Starlink Residential plan that you purchased (100, 200, or Max). The order summary should show $0 for the plan.
- Pay for shipping and any applicable device fees at checkout.
- (Optional) Claim a Starlink Mini if eligible
- (Optional) Choose whether you'd like free professional installation
- Your Starlink hardware kit will be shipped to you.
Shipping and any one-time device fees are paid directly to Starlink when claiming your kit. These charges are separate from your monthly US Mobile bill.
You can also opt for professional installation if you so choose for a low or discounted fee depending on your Starlink Residential plan.
Set up your Starlink
Once your kit arrives, use the Starlink app to finish setting everything up. The app walks you through the full installation process.
- Download the Starlink app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Open the app and sign in with your Starlink account credentials.
- Use the built-in obstruction checker to find a spot outside with a clear, unobstructed view of the sky. Trees, rooftops, and other structures can interfere with your signal.
- Place your Starlink dish at the location you identified and connect it following the in-app instructions.
- Connect your Hardware Kit and power everything on.
- The router will automatically search for and connect to Starlink satellites — this can take a few minutes on first setup.
- Once connected, join your new Starlink Wi-Fi network from your devices using the network name and password shown in the Starlink app.
If you run into issues during setup, Starlink's troubleshooting documentation covers common problems. Starlink also has installation videos to help with router setup.

You can change or cancel your Starlink plan from the US Mobile website. These options are available from your Lines page once your plan is active.

FAQs
Here are answers to common questions about US Mobile's Starlink plans.
Which US Mobile plans are eligible for promotional Starlink pricing?
All plans are eligible except for Custom Plans and plans that have been Snoozed. For more promotional terms and eligibility please refer to our terms and conditions.
What homes are best for Starlink Residential?
Starlink works great for single-family homes and properties with a clear sky view and may not be ideal for apartment buildings or locations with HOA restrictions on outdoor equipment.
How reliable is the network?
Starlink maintains greater than 99.9% availability, delivering reliable connectivity nationwide.
How fast is the network?
Depending on your plan, you can achieve speeds up to 400+ Mbps with low latencies perfect even for intensive streaming or gaming.
Can I use my connection on the move?
Starlink Residential plans cannot be used on the go and must be used at your intended service address.
What is a demand surcharge?
In areas with higher demand for Starlink service, there is an additional one-time fee to purchase Starlink Residential services.
The additional charge depends on the service address, the service plan, and/or the Starlink kit selected.
- This fee only applies when purchasing or activating a new residential service plan. If you change your service address or plan later, you may be charged the demand surcharge if it applies in that area.
Returns and cancellations
If you cancel your service, you must return your kit within 30 days in good condition. If it is not returned or not in good condition, you will be charged the full price of the kit.
Will the orders be consolidated?
No. For now, Starlink orders are not consolidated with your US Mobile orders. Each will be billed and managed separately.
Troubleshooting
Router shows "Searching" or "Offline"
Your router is looking for satellites. This is normal when powering on for the first time or after a restart. Give it a few minutes to connect. If it stays in this state, open the Starlink app and use the obstruction checker to make sure nothing is blocking your router's view of the sky.
Can't connect to Wi-Fi
Confirm your hardware is powered on. Make sure you're selecting the correct Wi-Fi network name (found in the Starlink app). If the issue persists, try restarting the router by unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in.
Does weather impact my service quality?
Significant weather can cause service degradation due to attenuation of the radio signals. Moderate to heavy rain, snow, and hail can cause momentary service dropouts.
Storm systems near local ground stations can also impact service. However, Starlink's extensive network connected to laser-augmented satellites allows traffic to be routed around storm systems to reduce the impact on your service.
During typical storms or weather events, you may notice short drops or interruptions in service which should return to normal as soon as the weather passes. There are a few steps you can take ahead of time to minimize disruptions:
- Make sure all of your cables are fully plugged in.
- Ensure your Starlink is securely mounted.
- (Optional) Set up a surge protector to safeguard against unexpected power surges.
If you are in the path of hurricane-force winds, take the following steps to minimize potential hardware issues:
- If it is safe to do so, bring your Starlink and cables indoors.
- If you cannot bring your cable inside, protect the exposed ends from water. If the cable does get wet, ensure it fully dries out before reconnecting your Starlink.
If your Starlink has lingering connectivity issues after the weather passes, try the following:
- Check whether your Wi-Fi network has factory reset. During power outages, your Starlink router may reset to its default settings — it is designed to factory reset after 6 consecutive power cycles, which can happen inadvertently during outages. If this occurs, you can set up your Wi-Fi password and network name again using the Starlink app.
- Check your hardware for any signs of damage, particularly outdoor components. Debris or water intrusion can cause damage that isn't immediately apparent. If the cable got wet, ensure it fully dries out before reconnecting.
- If the above steps don't resolve your issue, please contact support.
