Adding lines to your pool

note

Your cycle starts when you add your first line to the pool. You can create a pool and add lines later without starting your billing cycle.

You can add or remove lines at any time during the billing cycle. If you add a line mid-cycle, the access fee is prorated based on the remaining days. For example, adding a line 10 days into the cycle means you'll be charged 2/3 of the $8 access fee (~$5.33).

  1. Sign in to your account dashboard.
  2. Select My Pools and select your pool.
  3. Select Add New Line.
  4. Choose to add an existing line, get a new number, or transfer a number from another carrier.
  5. Select a line from the available options and select Add your new lines.
note

If you're moving an existing line into the pool, you can move it immediately or at the end of the cycle.

Understanding your usage

TermDescription
Pool SizeThe total data (in GB) shared across all lines in the pool
Top-upA one-time data purchase — unused top-ups roll over each cycle
Remaining DataHow much data is left in the current cycle
Total UsageHow much data your lines have used, individually or collectively

Viewing usage

In Pools, select your pool to view a chart of cumulative data usage across all lines. Hover over the chart to view daily usage. A leaderboard shows which lines are using the most data, and you can compare the current cycle to the previous one using the cycle selector above the chart.

Usage data is typically about one hour behind real-world activity, as we rely on our network partner for this information. We'll notify you of any significant delays and won't pause service until we have accurate data.

tip

When your by-the-gig plan runs out of data, all lines on it will lose data service. We'll notify you when you're approaching your limit. You can add more data at any time if your usage approaches or exceeds your base plan amount.

Getting notified

  • At 90% usage: we'll send you an email notification.
  • At 100% usage: we'll send another email.
  • In the app, your pool page will show when data is exhausted and if you're on track to exceed your base plan.

Restoring data service

You can purchase a top-up to add more data or wait until your next cycle which will refresh your data amount.
