So, you’re thinking about switching carriers but want to keep your number? No worries, we’ve got you covered! If you’re ready to move from TAG Wireless to another carrier, here’s everything you need to know to make the process as smooth as possible.
Table of Contents
Step 1: Gather the Required Information
Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary details at hand. For TAG Wireless, you’ll need:
- Your TAG Mobile account number: This is your 20-digit SIM card number, which you can find directly on the SIM card (usually under the battery).
- Port-out PIN: TAG Mobile doesn’t require a PIN, but if your new carrier asks for one, you can use the last four digits of your phone number.
Having these details ready will save you from unnecessary delays.
Step 2: Contact Your New Carrier
Reach out to the carrier you’re switching to and let them know you want to port your number from TAG Wireless. Provide them with:
- Your 20-digit account number.
- The optional PIN (if requested).
- Your phone number.
Your new carrier will handle the rest of the porting process.
Step 3: Keep Your TAG Wireless Account Active
One key thing to remember: don’t cancel your TAG Wireless account before the porting process is complete. If you cancel prematurely, you could lose your phone number altogether. Wait until your number has been successfully transferred to your new carrier before making any changes.
Step 4: Finalize the Switch
Once your number has been transferred, confirm with your new carrier that the process is complete. You’re now officially on a new network with the same phone number!

I have been emailing this company since the end of October for a port out pin and all they do is send me ridiculous emails back telling me that I need to provide information on myself every time they send an email back. It’s the same email asking me for the same information there is no contact phone number that a human being picks up ever there is no chat service. I called the FCC on them and now I’m calling my lawyer and I’m suing the company because I have lost thousands and thousands of dollars because it is making sure also that this company‘s doors are shut down and the owner of the company is never allowed to open another business again
Sorry you’re having that experience over there.
