Understanding Cricket’s Military Deployment Services
If you’re an active-duty military member, Reservist, or part of the National Guard and you’re facing deployment, Cricket Wireless has your back! We know how essential it is to stay connected, even when you’re halfway around the world. That’s why Cricket offers specialized services to help you manage your cell phone service while you’re serving your country.
What is the Cricket Military Deployment Plan?
The Cricket Military Deployment Plan is designed to hold your phone number while you’re away on duty. If you’re called into active service and can’t use your Cricket service, we can preserve your number for up to 36 months! And don’t worry; you have a 90-day window to reactivate your service once you’ve returned to the United States. Just remember: after 39 months, any inactive phone numbers will be deactivated and recycled.
Getting Started with the Cricket Military Deployment Plan
Ready to switch to this plan? It’s super simple! All you need to do is give Cricket’s Customer Service a call. Just provide your last name and date of birth, and we’ll get everything set up for you. Easy peasy!
What to Expect While On the Plan
While you’re enjoying the peace of mind that comes with this plan, you’ll notice a few changes:
- Your phone will be unenrolled from AutoPay to prevent unwanted charges.
- All wireless voice, data, and voicemail services will be turned off.
- Sadly, any saved voicemails will also be lost.
- You can still log into your account and manage other lines through the My Account page or the myCricket App.
Reactivating Your Cricket Service
Once your deployment is over and you’re back home, it’s time to get back in touch! You have 90 days from your final day of service to reactivate your Cricket Wireless account. Keep an eye out for a friendly reminder text from us to ensure you don’t miss your window. Reactivating is as simple as giving Cricket Customer Support a call!
Unlocking Your Device for Deployment
Need to unlock your Cricket device before heading off to deployment? We can help with that too! Just reach out to Customer Support at 1-800-CRICKET (1-800-274-2538) or dial 611 from your Cricket phone. If you can’t meet the 6-month service requirement because of your deployment, Cricket will unlock one phone for you, as long as you provide the necessary documentation.
For your unlock request, contact us at [email protected] or send a fax to 770-360-4979, including:
- Your name
- Date of birth
- Your phone number
- A copy of your deployment status documentation
- Your email address for sending unlocking directions
Important Note: Cricket reserves the right to deny any unlock request if it appears to be fraudulent or if there’s an intent to abuse this policy.
