So, how do I transfer my current number out of US Mobile?
Step 1: Check Eligibility
Before initiating the porting process, ensure that your current phone number is eligible for porting.
You may be ineligible if if your plan was set up through your job, or if you aren’t the primary account owner. Also, please ensure that the number you have is a US-based number to avoid any issues later on in the porting process.
US Mobile has no contracts, so as long as your bill is current, you can initiate the porting process whenever you want.
Step 2: Gather Necessary Information
To initiate the porting process, you’ll need to gather some essential information from your current carrier:
- Account Holder’s Name
- Whoever set up your account is typically the Account Holder. If you’re unsure, Sign into your account and head to the User Management tab. There, you’ll be able to see who the account owner is.
- Transfer PIN
- To request a Transfer PIN, head to usmobile.com/chat and request a Transfer PIN. Once we confirm it’s really you, we’re happy to give you a Transfer PIN. The reason we have you chat with us is just to verify and secure your account before beginning the porting process.
- Current Phone Number

- Android: Settings > About Phone > Scroll down for IMEI
Step 3: Provide Information and Documentation
During the porting process, you’ll need to provide the information gathered in Step 2 to your new carrier. This includes your current phone number, your current carrier info, your carrier account number and lastly your carrier/transfer pin.
Step 4: Porting Date and Time
The porting of a number can generally take around 24-48 hours, depending on how cooperative the previous carrier is. In certain instances it can be longer for VoIP or landline numbers, which can take up to 7-10 business days.
Step 5: Await Confirmation
Once you’ve provided all the necessary information and continued through our activation flow, sit back and relax! We’ll release your number and your new carrier will confirm the successful porting of your phone number once it’s completed.
Thank you for being a part of the US Mobile family— we hope to see you again soon!
