How to set up a By the Gig (Shareable Data) Plan
What are By the Gig Plans?
By the Gig Plans (or Shareable Data Plans) allow you to set up multiple lines that draw from a shared pool of data. Unlike traditional individual plans, where each line has its own data allocation, these plans let you get a base plan that consists of a collective amount of data for all lines.
This feature is ideal for families, groups of friends, and businesses with multiple lines. However, you can also set it up for a single line if you want.
How to set up a new By the Gig plan
Setting up a By the Gig Plan from your dashboard is quite easy:
Login to your US Mobile dashboard.
Go to My Pools and click on Create new pool.
You'll see an introduction screen that gives you some information about how these plans work. Click Start to continue setting up your plan:
Customize your pool by naming it, and select an icon and color to easily recognize your pool.
Select the pool size based on your monthly data needs. The prices already include access fees for your first line in the pool.
If you need physical SIMs for the lines you will add to your plan, add the number of Starter Kits you want under the Free Starter Kits tile. You can select upto 5 complimentary kits.
If you've already got active lines with US Mobile, you can add them to your pool by clicking on + Choose US Mobile lines under the Lines tile.
You can also add lines to your shareable pool after creating it.
Enter your payment and shipping information, select your payment method, and click on Create Pool.
How do I add lines to my By the Gig plan?
Go to My Pools and click on the pool you want to add lines to.
Click Add line + in the top right of the pool page. This will open a side drawer that will give you several options to add a line:
Choose an existing line on your account.
Selecting the option to "Immediate" will move the line to the Shared Data Plan and forfeit your current plan. If you wish to use the remainder of your plan, please select "End of Cycle" so your line moves to the By the Gig Plan once the current plan ends.
Get a new number.
Transfer an existing number. Here, you'll have to enter your current carrier information so we can port in your number.

What lines are eligible for By the Gig plans?
Lines on all of our networks will work with our shareable data plans. You can even mix Warp, Dark Star, and Light Speed lines in one shareable data plan.
When does the billing cycle start for my By the Gig Plan?
The clock won't start ticking on your Shared data plan cycle until you add your first line to the pool. That means you can create a shareable pool and add lines later.
Your Shareable plan cycle will last 30 days from the day you add your first line.
I already have a shareable data pool on the old pricing. How do I switch it to the new By the Gig plan?
Here is how you can switch an existing pool to the new pricing:
Go to your Pool page > Settings
Click Edit next to Pool information.
Click on Base Plan to expand the available options, and switch the toggle to view the new pricing
Select a new base plan. The new prices include one line in the pool for free.
Choose the payment method and hit Save Changes. The new pricing will take effect from the start of your next billing cycle.
